Chief Technology Officer, Americas, and OCTO Global Lead of Technology Consultants, VCE
John Lockyer is the CTO for the Americas and Global Lead of Technology Consultants within the Office of the CTO at VCE. He and his team provide thought leadership and strategic direction to Enterprise businesses around the world. VCE, formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel, is a leader in converged cloud infrastructure systems and represents the next evolution of IT.
Lockyer originally joined VCE in 2010 leading the vArchitect teams in the Eastern United States and Latin America. He took on his current position as CTO – Americas in August of 2012. Prior to joining VCE, Lockyer was employed by NetApp, where he was a key contributor to NetApp’s data center solution offerings. Lockyer’s previous experience also includes positions at Brocade where he served as a Principal Solutions Architect and Practice Lead within Brocade’s Cloud and Data Center Virtualization Practice. Serving in various roles earlier in his career Lockyer has a strong background in UNIX, Oracle, VMware and shared storage.
Lockyer’s career began in the United States Marine Corps, where in addition to his duties within an M1A1 Tank Battalion, he was responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the initial networking system linking Marine Corps Units around the globe.
